    That doesn't make much sense. It's reinventing the wheel. You either can have it cached by browser or by extension. In both cases you need to make request to check if there's anything updated. In the latter case you need to write whole cache routine, so it would do something that's already done. I just checked in Firefox console, the only thing it fetches for me is Wikipedia API.
