Allow the wikiwand interface to load locally if the extension is installed
If the wikiwand interfacial elements were to be available locally, then the only thing you would have to fetch from the internet would be the wikipedia content. This would improve loading times as well as reduce traffic to your website every time an article is loaded. This can be bundled along with the extension, which would do more than redirection now.
I got the idea from the Mega (ala the Kim Dotcom service) extension and any typical android app, both of which generally have the interface available locally and only load content from out there.
I bet it's harder to track people if everything is local :)

Any progress on this yet? It's been 5 years already..

I think this is the best idea Wikiwand should be working on. They have the opportunity to make a fantastic Wikipedia reader that can also not depend heavily on their servers. You can then expand that to where Wikiwand could cache articles for offline use and so on.

If this is implemented, it will be by far the best feature of WikiWand

Given this, I will surely invite more friends to join WikiWand!

This is a really interesting idea. I think it's great!
This is exactly what i want from wikiwand. I really like it, but i`m concerned about my privacy - instead of wikipedia, the site i trust, i`m redirected to the wikiwand, which looks great but it does have zopim, uservoice and google scripts that could possibly collect data.
