An application for the new windows operating systems37 votes
Sorry guys, unfortunately we do not have the capacity to develop a Windows app
It would be nice IMO if there wasn't the "Spread the love" and "share article" at the top. but in a more discrete place.12 votes
We have recently disabled the news feature in Wikiwand’s toolbar / footer.
However, we do plan to keep the share/invite features, which are common in any modern app.
Unless I am mistaken, you either need to disable Wiiwand or click on 'Read on Wikipedia' to be able to get the actual URL for sharing a wikipedia page on something other than FB, Twitter, Gmail, or or G+. I realise that neither of these are overly time consuming but having a 'Get the URL' button on either the header or in the dropdown menu would be a nice addition.10 votes
You can simply Copy the URL from the address bar.
WikiWand URLs work and are fully readable by anyone – including people who do not have the extension install.
Windows 10 is growing faster than anyone would have guessed, and you developers can't ignore it. If we had a universal Windows 10 app, it could work across Windows 10 PCs, phones, Xbox, Hololens and thousands of other IoT devices. You guys would have 100x more downloads, and everyone on those devices will be happy. Windows 10 is projected to have 1 billion devices as a whole by 2018.6 votes
Sorry, there is not enough demand at the moment
I would like a Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.0 app for Wikiwand, with pivots at top, and an app bar at the bottom.4 votes
Sorry, not enough demand at the moment
It would be awesome if coverage could be extended to Wikibooks.4 votes
That’s a great suggestion.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the resource to supports other Wikis (such as Wikibooks or WIkitionary) at the moment.
Truly sorry for that.
I've uninstalled the extension because now every time I try to copy a link to a wikipedia article I get the wikiwand substitution. WikiWand is nice, but when I link to wikipedia I don't necessarily want to also advocate my own viewer. And as far as I can see, there's no reason for the extension to need this, because you can just redirect me from the wikipedia page.1 vote
One would except that our extension will simply intercept navigation to Wikipedia and redirect the user to WikiWand.
We are actually doing that, but we found that it creates a very bad user experience:
When you’d click a link to Wikipedia (for example on Google search result page), it would navigate to Wikipedia, send a request to Wikipedia, intercept the response, and then redirect the user to WikiWand.
This has 2 very annoying side effects:
1. It shows a “flash of Wikipedia” for a split second, and then it loads WikiWand. It looks horrible.
2. It takes longer to load each article.
So – we need to replace links in order to provide a smooth, fast experience for our users.
It's all great but you need to add the description of the moons1 vote
Wikiwand is a Wikipedia interface – we display the Wikipedia content as-is, so at the moment we cannot add more info about various topics. Sorry for that.
hovering over Wikipedia articles links displays a popup of the introduction of that article which often contains also links , so it would be awesome to be able to preview them as well on top of the original preview.
the need for this ,is an extension for the original need for the 'preview on hover ' feature :)1 vote
We discussed this internally, and figured out nested previews would make this feature too complicated for many people. The feature is really simple at the moment and we’d like to keep it this way.
Thanks for the suggestion, though! Much appreciated.
I suggest to remove ?oldformat=true from URL when there is the switch to WP page.1 vote
Unfortunately this is impossible due to a technological reason – the browser extension needs some indication that it should not redirect this page to Wikiwand, and a URL parameter is the easiest way.
We investigated the issue and found out the editor of the article explicitly put spans with black colors inside the article: http://www.wikiwand.com/en/List_of_One_Piece_characters
Unfortunately, there’s not much we can do about it.

A much larger scrollbar on the table of contents would be very helpful. Actually, I would prefer it to the right of the box so that I do not hit my sidebar switch.0 votes
We tried moving the scrollbar to the right side and enlarging it. It looked really bad, which negatively affected the article reading experience. Sorry.
