  2. The latest version constantly logs output in to the chrome developer console

The latest version constantly logs output in to the chrome developer console. It should never print anything in to the chrome console unless explicitly in development mode. For web developers it's just filling up the console with messages on every single site. This needs to be turned off now.

  3. Quick definitions are broken in Chrome 73

In Chrome 73, a new security feature called Cross-Origin Read Blocking (https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5629709824032768) prevents Wikiwands popup definitions from working. When you attempt to do a popup, the spinner stays forever, and in the Chrome Console log, you can see the following error message:

"Cross-Origin Read Blocking (CORB) blocked cross-origin response "https://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?..." with MIME type application/json. See https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5629709824032768 for more details."

Relatedly: when the pop-up fails, the spinner stays forever. The popup should detect failure and remove the spinner when this happens, and ideally show a pop-up error with what happened.

  7. Make firefox extensions a 'WebExtension'

On November 14th Firefox 57 will be released. Starting at Firefox 57 all Firefox extensions that aren't so called WebExtensions will not function anymore. Since WikiWand is incredibly amazing, it would be great if it continues to function on Firefox after Nov. 14th.
    Thanks in advance lovely humans.

  8. When on Dark Theme, invert the colour of math text.

As it is, we currently have black text on a dark background, which makes it almost impossible to see equations or variables, and which makes it necessary to switch to the light theme.

  9. Remove "content script start" from console log on every page

I'm working as a web-developer, and this message hurts my work experience, because it's always distracts from actual console messages.

  10. Cleanup console debug

As a developer, getting the console clogged, is somewhat annoying:

Those prints originated from our Chrome Extension, sorry about that.
We have removed those prints and published a new version of our Chrome Extension.
Chrome updates extensions automatically, so those prints should be gone within the next few hours – no action is required on your side.

  11. Extension with a Wikipedia-to-Wikiwand switch button that enables one to read the Wikipedia article being browsed on Wikipedia on Wikiwand

My computer is a relatively slow one. While reading on Wikiwand is more pleasurable, it's often not an option for me since a Wikiwand pages take much longer to load. So I have to generally disable this Wikiwand extension anyway and read articles on Wikipedia's own website instead.

So I want an extension for the Chrome and other web browsers that has a 'Read this on Wikiwand' button, so that I can keep reading articles on Wikipedia by default and also switch to Wikiwand whenever I want.

Our Chrome extension now has this [W] botton in the bottom-right corner that enabled you to disable and enable Wikiwand. This button shows up on Wikiwand and on Wikipedia pages.

  12. Reading history and option to add a 'read later' list.

It would be great to keep track of things I have read over time and to explore them further when one wants.

Clicking through hyperlinks we traverse a path of knowledge that can be of great use to others exploring similar topics over time.

  13. Add simple English to the language options

I use the Simple English "language" of Wikipedia all the time with my ESL students, and it would be AWESOME if they could view the Simple English pages via Wikiwand.

    Hi Victor.
Simple English is actually fully supported in Wikiwand :)

    For an example:
    1. Please go to http://www.wikiwand.com/en/Education
    2. Click the (EN) icon in the toolbar
    3. Click “149 other languages”
    4. Search for, and select “Simple English”

If you wish to quickly access Simple English from the languages dropdown, you can add it as a preferred language:
    1. Go to any article on Wikiwand
    2. Click the (EN) icon in the toolbar
    3. Click “Language Preferences”
    4. Add “Simple English” to your language preferences
    5. Close the dialog
    6. Click the (EN) icon in the toolbar again. You should see “Simple English” in the dropdown, which will indicate if this article is available in Simple English (not all articles are).

    Hope this helps!

  14. include access to missing components such as coordinates

One of my common purposes for using Wikipedia is accessing the GPS coordinates of a location to see exactly where it is. Apparently I have to switch to the original Wiki page to access the coordinates link. Can this be added to the WikiWand styled page?

  15. Code highlight

Wikipedia has a lot of articles with code examples. Originally it highlighted, but wikiwand ignores it.

  16. Make Firefox addon Electrolysis (E10s) compatible

Electrolysis is an upcoming multi-process feature of Firefox that is going soon to be standard: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis

Currently Wikiwand addon is marked by "Add-on compatibility Reporter" as "multiprocess incompatible" (see also list at https://arewee10syet.com/). Please imrove it soon to support this feature because single incompatible addon turn E10s off and E10s gives a great boost performance on machines with enough RAM because of better parallelism, less locks.

We’ve fixed this error, sorry guys.
It was caused due to an OpenSSL configuration problem while communicating with the Wikipedia servers. Should be working fine now, sorry again.
